Trips to Home Depot

Postby Eric » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:44 pm

This poll was inspired by Sherry & John over at Young House Love. They twittered that they forgot to pick up enough molding and had to return to Home Depot, a mere 30 minutes after their last trip.

I've done this, more than once, I'm afraid to admit - There was one project where I had to visit the store 7 times in 24 hours.

I'd love to hear your stories about visits to Home Depot (or Lowe's or other store) in your reply, and don't forget to vote, too.

Ha - What a great topic! I thought I was the only one.

There was this one time when I was putting in a new bathroom vanity my wife and I bought at Ikea. The first trip was to get the usual stuff - some hardware, a bit of caulk, and some fittings for the plumbing. But then I couldn't get the P-trap to line up just right, and had to go back for some additional pipe, and then the drawer that came with the unit wouldn't close all the way because the pipes stuck out too far. My wife came up with a creative solution to take the drawer out and use baskets (which was the final trip).

Now it looks great - I'll see if I can find a photo to show you all.
