Whenever working on any home improvement project, i’ve found it essential to have the right measuring tools. Â Here are a few common items I always have on hand to make sure all my projects come out just right.
- Pencil – You can never have enough of these – #2Â Dixon Ticonderoga
yellow pencils.
- Tape Measure Stanley 25″ Tape Measure
- Lufkin Folding Wood Rule
- Ace Aluminum Speed Square
Plumb Bob
Magnetic level – great for hanging pictures.
Framing square – this larger square is used for bigger projects, and as a straightedge for layout marks on my woodworking projects.
I keep all the smaller, most used items in a little drawer right on my workbench. Â When I’ve got a project that isn’t at my bench, I simply pull the drawer all the way out, and take it to where ever I’m working. Â That way everything I need is at my fingertips.
